This is Part 3 of an series of articles on how we are meant to pray together! ...
"For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them"
-Matthew 18:20
These word from Jesus Christ, Himself, urge us to pray together!
((October 13, 1917 - Fatima -Right before of the Miracle of the Sun - Group Rosary for 6 months there - as Our Lady requested...thereby procuring a Great Miracle with many conversions and miracles! One of the Greatest Miraculous Events of the History of the World - all because Our Lady was pleased with the Catholic Faithful gathering together to pray the rosary at Fatima!
Did you know that this miracle would have been far greater, but because of the Masons kidnapping and imposing mental torture on the children on August 13, this resulted in the failure of the apparition to take place to the Three Children of Fatima, thereby moving Heaven to lessen the October miracle and Our Lady in fact told the children that the October Miracle would be less due to this Masonic intervention?)
August 6,2020-Feast of the Transfiguration
Dear Friends of Our Lady,
Since about 2014, this author has wanted to do an article on the Rosary most particularly on the “Block Rosary” because for a long time, I have felt that we need to “up the game” so to speak with our rosaries.
- You may be asking: “What in the world is the “Block Rosary”?
It is not so difficult to describe as it is remarkably simple. The idea is to meet with people in your neighborhood (thus the word “Block” as in the term neighborhood block aka street) and pray the rosary weekly after dinner and dishes are done. The intention is for protection for your family, neighborhood, society. This does not seem that difficult, but it could be a bit challenging these days considering all our restrictions with “social distancing,” and the rest…. However, I am suggesting perhaps a modified way perhaps of trying to get a few people that live near you from your church or maybe your family to pray with you once a week. Perhaps even with Instant Messaging or some other type of media app.
- Another question might be: Is this form of praying the rosary has been approved?
And because I even posed this question to myself, I decided to do some research and investigation on the subject. I have also found it exceedingly difficult to get information about this subject of the
Block Rosary not only because it has become obscured, but also due to this period of this universal shutdown, most avenues for research have been either shut down or made less available to the public….
Therefore, a special thanks goes out to all of the people at the
Marian Library at University of Dayton -the Director of the Marian Library, Sarah Cahalan, and particularly the
librarians, and assistant professors Jason Wardell, and Henry Handley for all of their assistance in sending the proof of the following story.
May God reward and bless you! And I ask everyone who is reading this article to include these wonderful people in your prayers today!
- So in answer to that question: Has it been approved?
Yes, it has been approved by the Catholic Church since (what I have found) September 12, 1951 in Philadelphia with an
Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat in a book called:
“The Block Rosary” written by Alma Regina Gargan.

We were able to uncover some articles about the success of the block rosary over the decades!
This devotion has waned here in the USA but other countries such as Nigeria and other African nations are still following this devotion!
